This just in... Gilbert Romero, member of the Mexican American Bar Association and Board Member of the Education Foundation of the VC MABA, Inc. has just been appointed by Governor Brown to fill a Ventura County judicial vacancy.
This is not only great news for Gilbert but also great news
for MABA, our community and the Ventura County Bar Association's Diversity Bar
Alliance who has been working extremely hard to increase diversity on the
bench.
We are extremely pleased with the Governor's decision and
believe that our efforts to increase awareness of the need of diversity on the
bench are starting to give fruit. We have a lot more work to do as we continue
with our efforts to increase diversity on the bench, but this is one step in
the right direction.
